The Grantsburg boys and girls basketball teams hit the road tonight to take on the Webster Tigers.

Both teams are in a bit of rebuilding. Grantsburg (0-1, 2-3) lost seven seniors from last year’s team and Webster (0-1, 2-2) suits, and plays, seven underclassmen.

Grantsburg won both games last season.

Both teams are looking for their first conference win. Grantsburg lost to Unity 78-51 last Thursday while Webster led most of the way against Frederic but ultimately dropped it to the Vikings, 49-46.

Game starts at 5:45

Both the Tigers and Pirates are undefeated on the young season.

The teams split the series last season, both winning at home.

Webster hasn’t played since December 1st.

The Tigers are looking to improve on their sixth-place finish in the conference last year. Head coach Rob Scherrer is cautiously optimistic, “This conference is extremely tough so it takes a focus each an every night. I’m not sure we are there yet. I think we have the potential of winning a conference title as well as making a deep run in the playoffs, we will have to see as the season progresses.”

Grantsburg has started the season strong with a 4-0 record. Tonight is Grantsburg’s first road game as well as their first conference game.

Tip-off scheduled for 7:15
