This is somewhat old news from Grantoberfest, but I just came across it from Grantsburg’s Chamber of Commerce site.

She won the chili cook-off. This is not the first time her recipe has won a blue ribbon, either.

So… congrats, Mom!

There are lots of pictures and a list of all the different winners of various and sundry things on the page, too.

Hey all you Pirate supporters here are a couple things you might want to consider…

Thursday morning at 8:30 there will be a pep session for the state-bound volleyball team. These pep rallies are always very well done and are fun to go to. The public is more than welcome to attend.

There will be a fan bus (or two?) leaving Grantsburg Friday morning. Check with the high school office for departure times and prices.

Tickets to the state tournament are $8.00 and will be available at the high school office starting at 8:00 am Monday morning.

Grantsburg’s first match from the Resch Center in Green Bay will be Friday, November 6th at 1:00 pm. If you cannot make it over to the city by the bay please tune in to 105.7 WXCX. I also know the WIAA will stream video from the match and I’ll get that website to you in a different post.

Way to go Pirates!!!

I was very impressed by Grantoberfest on Saturday. Congratulations Nicki Peterson and the Chamber of Commerce for a wonderful idea. It was great fun for my entire family and not as creepy as the fair (except for one of the kickball teams, YIKES!).

It was very fun to see a ton of people just out there enjoying their neighbors and friends. All the people I talked to really liked the event. And my mom won the Chili Cook-off!!! (In fact, we’re going to have that before the Monday Night Football game tomorrow… a new batch, thankfully).

I love our community and for the Chamber getting behind this event is really great and I hope they continue it well into the future.

Today I celebrate the one year anniversary of We Are Grantsburg!

Thank you to all the different people who have faithfully visited this site over the past year.

WAG has been "hit" nearly 200,000 times in this first full year of service! I am thankful for each one of you who has come to the site.

I hope to continue and improve the site. I already have many ideas of how to make the next year even better.
