In this recent article by Nicholas Kartos at Wissports.net the Grantsburg Pirates project to be in the field of 32 for the Division 5 WIAA state tournament. It is unknown whether he believes the Pirates will win this week against Flambeau or not, but he has them in his top teams.

Here's an excerpt from the article:

Taking the playoff picture a step further, we projected week 9 results to come up with a 224 team projected playoff field.  In our projections we had 227 teams with at least a .500 conference record with Tomah and Tri-County being eliminated from the field based on projected 3-6 records and Alma Center Lincoln out with a 4-5 overall record but a poor opponents defeated winning percentage.

The winner of this Thursday's game between Grantsburg and Flambeau (Division 6) will be guaranteed a playoff berth, but both are projected to make their respective division's playoff regardless of that outcome.

UPDATE: I sent an email to Mr. Kartos asking who he had winning the Grantsburg/Flambeau game and he replied very quickly with this: "In my projections I had Grantsburg losing to Flambeau but it was really a coin flip and they both ended up in the field in my projections."
