I have received a lot of hits regarding the death of St. Croix Falls senior Zach Foeller, an all-conference defensive back and homecoming king. According to this Sentinel article the young man took his own life last week.

If you happen to be one of Zach’s family, friend or someone else who was touched by his life, please accept my condolences, and with this I’m confident I can speak for the entire community of Grantsburg that our prayers are with you.

I did not know Zach personally and only watched him play ball, but anytime a young person takes his or her own life it is about the worst thing loved ones can go through. May God give you peace at this time.

The reason this site has been getting traffic about this subject is because in November I listed the all-conference selections for the Large Lakeland football teams, and Zach was on there so Google pointed people here.

Thank you very much.....I was Zachs cousin and I am only 12 years old but it still makes me sad to think about him.   One year has now passed since he took his own life and every day it gets in my head that he did kill himself.  Thanks very much for writing about him :)

Hi there. I was Zachary's cousin too. At the time, I was 13 years old. I would see Zachary at family events, and I could tell everyone was very fond of him. I am ashamed to admit it, but I was not close to Zachary. I always saw him, but I was too shy to talk. Looking back, almost three years later, I see how much of a difference we all could have made. My school has been struggling with two suicides, and let me tell you, it is not easier the second time. My deepest sympathies to all of you with hurt from a loss. Thank you sir for posting this. -Aisha
